Christmas Tree, Plants and Flowers

Since our daughters have been grown up and we now have two Beared Collies, we decided 3 years ago, as we kept our youngest Beardie Luca from our last litter, that will not have a Christmastree in our house for the coming years. Maybe time will come and than we take one in our home again. Since this time I buy a really tiny little Fir tree, plant it in a big winterhard pot and decorate it with lights and ornaments for Christmastime. Below you can see our current Christmastree : first with non decoration, second with finished decoration ! Voilá !

I think one of the most popular and famous Christmasflowers is without a doubt
 the Poinisettia
You may place her wherever you want and from now on “... it´s beginning to look a lot like Christmas “. It´s not only the good looking with the green leafs and the redcolored Blossomleafs the Poinisettia has exactly thee classic Christmas-color-combination, no, she´s also a very handsome plant. But watch out and don´t give her too much water ! When the ground is too wet she will loose her leafs !

Also a very beautiful Christmasflower for having in your house is the
 Amaryllis, or Hippeastrum-Hybride
She ist the inner home plant with the largest Blossoms, most colored red, white, rosé or two colores like mine on the pic. Isn´t she soo beautiful ? For me I is a absolute MUST to buy on every year my Amaryllis and I´ve never been disapointed by the plant. But you have to give her a light and normal warm place very close to the window that she gets enough light for blooming. After wilting you can cut the stalk, dry the ground and place the bulbous in a 15-18 C temp.dark room. After 3 Month there will come out a new young shoot. Than water gently again. For me it is the most impressing Christmasfower !

Now I think we will come to a Christmas plant,
the Mistle
I never have seen blooming this parasitic plant, but the small little Berries during Christmastime are looking really nice. In many countries it is tradition to hang a Mistle toe on a door or above an entry or a wall. And if you want somebody to kiss you say just: come on over here, just have to show you something ! And than you tell him : hey, what a surprise, we´re standing under a Mistletoe, now we HAVE TO KISS !!! I have one in every year *LOL*

The Christmas Rose or Helleborus Niger
is an absolute outdoor plant ! She´s a unique plant which delightes us with her gleaming but also shy beautyness. She is also called Snow Rose because she is a plant that stands all th wintery temperatures and of course snow. Those plants are also growing in the shadow, without sun and don´t need any special ground to become strong. And from year to year the Christ Rose will grow stronger and stronger and is looking still more beautiful ! I love this little “quiet” and “shy” plant !
